Transition Committee
The Transition Committee was created by the Policy Board in December 2009 following the vote by the membership to purchase our new property next door.
The committee was made up cross-section of the Fellowship from the Building Committee, Grounds Committee, Green Sanctuary Committee, Aesthetics Committee, Council of Committees, Religious Education Committee, Adult Religious Education Committee and the Finance Committee.
The first issue was raising the necessary funds to put a down payment ($65,000) followed by the securing of a loan. This encompassed members of the Policy Board, Space Committee and FICOM.
On January 27, 2009, we took possession of the building and our first sign went up the following day!

There has been much discussion about what we do next. We have discovered a mold and mildew problem inside and outside---it's an old building! On Saturday, February 6, the old carpeting was removed by a small group of hearty volunteers and we discovered hard wood floors! This next week, we will be talking to mold professionals to see what we need to do before we work on the floors or paint or even bring furniture in! This will be the highest priority because of safety and the cost to our Transitions Budget.
Stay tuned!
