We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship of the Peninsula, covenant to affirm and promote: The inherent worth and dignity of every person; Justice, equity and compassion in human relations; Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations; A free and responsible search for truth and meaning; The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large; The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all; Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. I will listen actively and speak and act respectfully to others because I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person I will treat others as I would like to be treated, because I desire justice, equity and compassion in human relations I will respect individual religious paths, because I believe in accepting one another and encouraging spiritual growth I will remain open to new ideas, because I believe in a free and responsible search for truth and meaning I will remember that everyone has a say in what happens in our congregation, because I believe in the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process I will embrace others in peace, because I believe in the goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all I will live lightly on the earth, beginning with our church community, because I respect the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. |
