Membership

The following is a brief description of the categories of affiliation available to those who attend the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Peninsula.

Member. Membership is open to all persons regardless of sex, race, creed, sexual orientation or national origin. A person becomes a member by signing the official Fellowship membership book witnessed by the Membership Chair, a member of the Policy Board, or the Minister. Prior to signing the Fellowship Membership book, the prospective member meets with the Minister or Membership Chair to review the rights and responsibilities of membership. A member maintains his/her membership by active participation in Fellowship functions and by making an annual financial contribution of record. Members have full voting rights and are eligible to serve as a Chair of a committee and/or be elected to any office.


 Friend. A Friend is any person in sympathy with the purposes, goals and programs of the UUFP but who chooses not to sign the Membership book. A Friend may participate in any and all Fellowship activities, but has no vote.

Youth Member. A Youth Member is between 13 and 17 years of age, expresses an interest in the philosophy and programs of the Fellowship; accepts and honors financial or service responsibility toward the Fellowship; may participate in any and all Fellowship activities, but has no vote.


 Honorary Member: An Honorary Member is a longtime associate of the Fellowship, either as a past member or a member who may no longer be able to regularly attend and participate in activities of the Fellowship.
